Constituencies electing one or two senators are concerned by a majority vote with two rounds.
In constituencies electing three or more senators, the election process involves proportional representation, whereby each list must respect gender parity.
In constituencies concerned by the 2014 elections, the electoral college will elect between
1 and 8 senators
For each constituency, the number of senators is determined according to the population.
